You have got 2-time points to conquer when it comes to visitors to your website. The first is 3 seconds! 3 seconds is all you have to get your visitors attention! We can already hear the gasp! Believe us, we know! This is known as the 3-second rule. The next time point is 7 seconds. Once you have managed to keep their attention for 3 seconds, your next goal is 7! During this time frame your website has to answer a few questions for them:

Is it professional?

Has it captured my interest?

Does it convince me they are a legitimate business?

Is it easy to contact them?

Does it convince me to give them my business?

It’s a lot to get across in just a few seconds! However, most people who come to your site will need to feel confident in using your business. They will also want to feel that you are are an authority and have a great depth of knowledge in your industry.

If their attention is still there after 7 seconds it means that the odds increase immensely in converting a visitor into a lead or enquiry!

The great thing is when you do use us to create a site for you is that we already know this information and use it to your advantage.

When it comes to web design we also use other techniques like the 10-foot test. Sounds a bit strange, but, it’s not that complicated. The way the 10-foot test is performed is, if you are sat at your computer looking at a website, stand up and take 3-5 steps back (depending on how big your steps are!) At this distance, you’ll be about 10 feet away from the screen. If you can’t tell what the company does from this distance, then it’s going to be difficult for someone sat right in front of the computer.
